Is Houseboat Tante Piet a safe stay during the current situation?

Yes, it is very save and clean according all the hygienic regulations.

Do you follow the governmental regulations regarding COVID-19?

Yes, we surely do and check up regularly.

Do I have a private entrance into the boat?

Yes, you have a private entrance. There is a staircase down into the ship and at the bottom you will find two doors to the private studio cabins.

Do I have a private outside space on the boat?

Yes!, you have your private deck terrace with a nice view over the canal. There are chairs and a table and a parasol for when the sun is to hot.

Can I check in contactless?

If you prefer to check in by your selfs just let Sietske know by sending a message trough out the contact form and she will place the key on a special spot.

How can we check out?

Check out is possible till 11am. You can leave the key on the table and let Sietske now that you are leaving.

How do I reach Houseboat Tante Piet?

From all sorts of directions and with all sorts of travel ays Houseboat Tante Piet is easy to get to.

From Schiphol Airport take the train to central station Amsterdam.
From central station you can take the tram number 26 and step out the 2nd stop, called Kattenburg. When you walk underneith the train track and look the right you can see the boat.

There is also always the option of taking a taxi of course.

What sizes are the 2 studio cabins?

The cabins are in total together 55 square meters.
Because you will rent automatically both cabins you will have all of the square meters.

Reservation

How do I make a reservation?

Visit the reservation page to check for availability. Enter in your desired check-in/out dates and the number of guests staying. Children need to be included.

I want to cancel my reservation!

Please fill out the contact form or email to info@houseboattantepiet.com to cancel your reservation.

Please reed the cancellation policy before you make a reservation, and please read them before you decide to cancel your booking.

Is there a minimum number of nights I must book?

Yes, there is a minimum of 2 nights. In high season sometimes 3 nights. But during winter time you can always make inquiries for 1 night. When you fill in the contact form your request will be seriously look at and answered within 24 hours.

Are extra guests allowed on board?

No, it is not allowed for extra guests to stay the night.
But if you have family or friends who like to visit you on board during the day that is totally fine.

 

Payment

How do I pay?

To pay for your reservation, please go to the reservation page.
Fill out the form and choose an option to pay with deposit or the full amount.

Deposit payments are 50/50. Meaning you pay 50% now and 50% later.
If your check in date is in the next 30 days of the reservation, we are obligated to charge you the full amount.

After completing your reservation, you will receive several emails confirming this with the details.

How can we pay?

Payment by IDEAL is possible.
Payment by PayPal is possible but it costs 4% extra due to commission.
Payment by Sumup on board is possible.

Are there any additional charges?

We are required to charge you a tourist tax of 10%, additional to your total price.
The rates already include 9% VAT.

Do I need to pay a deposit/security bond?

Yes please. Upon arrival €150,- in cash, in case of an accident.

Can I get a copy of my invoice after departure?

Yes, please send during or after your arrival all your details and the invoice will be send to you.

Facilities & Services

Do you have WiFi on board?

Yes! The ship is as modern as a house. And of course it is free of charge. On arrival you will receive the password.

Is there a parking?

When you arriva by car it is very well possible to park the car in front of the boat and unload the luggage.
After that the best parking I can advice is the P& R Zeeburg.
From there it is 5 minutes by tram and in total 2 stops to the boat.
Costs are €1,- per 24 hours! With a maximum of 72 hours.

What is included in the studio cabins?

In the smaller Studio Cabin:

+ 2 single beds size 90 x 200
+  Great duvets, sheets and pillows
+ Shower and Toilet
+ 2 towels per person, a big one and a smaller one
+ Shower and hair gel
+ Fridge
+ Water cooker
+ Tea
+ Sky light
+ 2 portals (can be openend)
+ Floor heating
+ WiFi (on arrival you receive the code)

In the big studio Cabin:

+ 1 Double bed 160 x 200
+  Great duvets, sheets and pillows

+ 2 towels per person, a big one and a smaller

+ Induction plate with one pit
+ Tea making facilities
+ Coffee machine

Is it possible to cook on board ?

Small meals or one pan meals are possible to cook on board. Because there is a one pit induction plate and there is a oven microwave.
The kitchenette contains further a fridge, water cooker, coffee machine en dishes, cutlery and different cups and glasses.

 

Is my furry friend allowed in the boat?

Sadly no, not allowed.

Is smoking allowed?

Yes smoking is allowed.
BUT only outside on the deck terrace. You can smoke all you want. Normal and happy cigarettes.

Are the beds made and are towels provided?

Fresh towels and linen are already set up for you in the boat.
Did you really think you had to bring your own?!

Is there coffee and tea om board?

Yes! Enough!

Is Houseboat Tante Piet wheelchair accessible?

No I am very sorry.

Can I rent a bike?

Yes! Close by is best bike shop Starbikes. They have all sorts of bikes, also the traditional Dutch bikes.
Ask on arrival and Sietske will show it on a map how to get there.

Is there a baby bed and cod on board?

Yes! There is a a vintage baby bed and a modern baby chair. The sockets though are not baby or toddler proof.

What optional services do you offer?

Is it someone’s birthday? Do you want to surprise your beloved one with a romantic package including bubbles, flowers and chocolate? Or do you have something else to celebrate?

Will the cabin be cleaned during our stay?

When you stay longer than 6 nights the beds will refreshed with new sheets. And you will receive new towels. 

Do you provide taxi service?

Yes, and no. First of all we definitely don’t recommend using a taxi in Amsterdam.
Why? It’s expensive. Uber is a good alternative.

Call these numbers to make an appointment.
They have a discount of 15% on your way to Schiphol Airport.
And can take up to 8 people with them.

Arrival

How do I check in?

We currently have no 24 hour reception.
Our meeting point is in front of the hotel gate.
From here you will be greeted by Aneta or Rosa, the managers of the hotel.

When can I check in?

Our check-in time starts at 15:00pm.

What documents do I need to check-in?

Please bring your reservation papers and your pasport or ID card.

We arrive early in the morning, what time can I check in?

We can only make early check-ins if the boat is clean upon your arrival. We promise to try and have your room ready for you as soon as possible.

We arrive late at night, what time can I check in?

If you can’t make it at our check-in time, please make sure to let us know. It would be very helpful if you let us know in advance what your estimated time of arrival will be at the hotel. We would appreciate it if you could call or text us a half hour before you arrive at the hotel. Please note that there is a limit on the time of check-in.

Departure

When do I check out?

I guess if you really have to leave us then you can do so before 11:00am.

Is it possible to store my luggage?

Is it possible to store your luggage you say?
Well the good news is yes you can!
The bad news however is not at our place.

Central Station offers limited luggage lockers.
